With my added strength and muscle tone, my pain is now  almost non-existent. I have increased mobility in my joints, and have never felt healthier. I have been training with Tom since at least 2006.  I took a group class with him at the gym, and needed an extra push to get back into my favorite jeans.  Because he was such a great motivator in our group class, I starting training with him one on one. 

 

Tom helped me reach that goal, and has been helping me reach goals ever since.   He has a great personality and tailors his workout and motivation to each client.  He can always tell when I can be pushed farther than I’m saying I can and when I’ve reached my max.  As the years go on, because of Tom, I’ve signed up for the Warrior Dash, the Fitathlon, and a  5K - something I would never have thought I could.  He helps me train for all these things, and just keeps me healthy and fit for my daily life.  I would highly recommend Tom Romano as a personal trainer.

I started training with Tom the summer before my junior year to get ready for soccer preseason in the fall. It should have been straightforward to get me in shape, but I have a very unstable knee. As a result, I couldn’t do a lot exercises without pain in my knee. This is where Tom was irreplaceable. He was patient, kind, and took the time to figure out what exercises I could and count not do. With each exercise he would ask, “How is your knee?” and he was able to tell even with my non-committal answers what made my knee hurt and what didn’t. With his help I was able to get in shape and be ready for the upcoming season. 

 

Though I didn’t see Tom during soccer season, as soon as our season was over I was back. With his help I trained over the winter and summer, and by my senior season I was in the best shape of my life. Though now I am in college, Tom has helped me to develop a program that works with my busy schedule. He gave me exercises to do that would maintain my fitness with the equipment available at school. With his help I have been able to get my knee in good enough condition and develop a program that has allowed me to train for a half marathon this spring.

Tom Romano has been my personal trainer for almost three years.  Working with him continues to be a terrific experience.  When I first began working with Tom, I was recovering from recent carpal tunnel surgery.  Tom is very knowledgeable about human anatomy was able to create a vigorous workout for me that protected my wrists.  As my wrists healed, Tom gradually increased the amount of weight-bearing exercises in my routine. I appreciate that he continues to check in with me about my wrists when he introduces a new exercise.

 

Tom knows just how much to push me so I get the best possible work out.  I know that I can trust Tom to keep me safe from injury while always challenging me. Working out with Tom never gets boring because he varies my routine every week and is fun to talk to.  I have enjoyed getting to know him. I would recommend Tom without reservation.

When I started looking for a personal trainer my goal was simple. I wanted to get back in shape.  I had gained weight and had not been in a gym in years. I knew I needed a trainer who would push me to give 100% while making sure I was executing correctly in order to avoid injury. 

 

I met Tom Romano and we discussed my goals and expectations, along with my need for someone to teach me proper form and work with the physical limitations. I knew from the first time Tom trained me I had made the right choice. After training with Tom for about two months the gym where I was training had a fat burn competition. Tom and I discussed this and I decided to enter. It was 6 weeks and the rules were simple. The one who could drop the most body fat would win.  With Tom’s dedication to me and my putting my fate in his hands, we set out to win. The result was my body fat dropping from 26% to 13%, winning the competition. I was truly amazed with my results and I know if it were not for Tom and his expertise I would never have achieved this. It is now almost a year later; I am now at 10% body fat and know I made the right choice in hiring Tom Romano. He calls me out when I need it or I go off track nutritionally. He has made a huge impact on my life and my health. I would highly recommend Tom to anyone considering a personal trainer. Whether your looking to get back in shape or get in the best shape of your life he is the trainer you want.

From almost the first time my son worked out with Tom, he repeatedly said to me, “Mom, you would love Tom!  You should work out with him.”  Finally, about a year later, I took my son’s advice and can say it was one of the best decisions I’ve made when it comes to physical fitness.  I am an avid runner and was really focused only on running.  Being a 50 year old woman,  I knew it was important for me to do some form of weight bearing exercise, but to be honest, I just hated the idea of going to a gym and lifting weights.  Tom changed all that for me.

 

First of all, Tom is one of the kindest and gentlest guys I’ve known.  For me, this is huge because if I’m spending an hour of my time with someone, I want to feel comfortable and at ease; Tom definitely does that.  The exercises Tom has me do are right for my body and its needs.  He listens to me, yet also encourages me to reach small goals.   Recently I suffered a stress fracture and was in a surgical boot for 6 weeks; however, my workouts with Tom continued.  He tailored the sessions around my injury and I was able to maintain a level of exercise that I don’t think would have been possible without Tom’s expertise.

 

Another great thing about Tom is his knowledge and training.  He has a degree in Kinesiology/Fitness Development and as a result, he truly understands how the body functions and what it needs to stay healthy and fit.  I feel very confident asking Tom about nutrition as well, because he can explain, in an easy-to-understand way, how certain foods affect the body, be it good or bad.   

 

The bottom line is that I’ve never stuck to a gym workout longer than a few months… until Tom.  And perhaps an even bigger testament is that in more than two years of working out with Tom, my teenage son has NEVER once even mentioned cancelling or missing a workout session.  That in and of itself says it all!
